All the biggest challenges in the world have one thing in common.
They all stem from one source – our collective IMMATURITY.
Meteorites and solar storms may be exempted.
What connects Trump, climate change, and the war in Ukraine?
They are all the result of greed, short-sightedness, wishful thinking
and a pile of other immaturity traits.
Even in your daily life, whether dealing with a boisterous uncle or a boorish boss, immaturity is the core issue.
Hence, our problems have a common solution:
We need to grow up.
We need to stop letting immature people run our lives – and the world.
Subscribe to learn more about how you, me and all the rest will benefit from “growing up” and why immaturity is our key problem.
Who are You?
This is a newsletter for global citizens who care.
You don’t just hope for a better world, but you feel a responsibility to make it happen
Your essential qualities
You are not a fan of Donald Trump.
You don’t think throwing soup at classic paintings will help the planet.
You accept that the conflict in the Middle East has 50 shades of grey.
You want Ukraine to win the war against Russia.
You accept evolution.
You are not dead certain about everything.
Your desirable qualities
You are not just focused on what you stand against—you are clear on what you stand for. What kind of world or society do you envision?
You are not motivated by impressing others with flowery language, a lavish house or a roaring car.
You don’t feel sorry for yourself 16 hours a day.
You read books.
You are able to answer questions like, “What have you learned over the past few weeks?” with something positive and meaningful.
A more mature world
My aim is to make the world more mature.
What would such a world look like?
That would be a world with more Zelenskys 🇺🇦 and less Trumps.
A world where figures like Jeff Bezos cannot become rich by exploiting workers.
Where saving butterflies 🦋 is more popular than watching baking competitions.
Where critical thinking is as normal as knowing how to tell time.
Where people walk home from work humming. 🎶
Where the only way to impress others is by being helpful and contributing to the common good.🌍
Where no one tells you how to live your life based on a "holy" book.
Where no one cares about the Kardashians.
It may sound lofty and naïve, but it’s doable.
We can eat our vegetables and grow up a few inches– if we choose to.
Can we overcome our immaturity?
But will we ever choose to or be able to overcome our immaturity?
Can we all become responsible critical thinkers
dedicated to service instead of self-service?
Isn’t that naïve, you may ask?
- Yes, it is.
But we can reach a point where our problems become abnormalities instead of normalities.
Where poverty, violence, conflicts, corruption, narcissistic leaders, superstition, destruction of nature and exploiting workers are treated as diseases—for which we have developed effective cures.
I come from a part of the world where that is not quite the case but which is far ahead of most other countries.
It can be done. It's up to us.
